so let me catch up on my readings and we can start where we left from, in speed mode until we are up to date. what chapter are you on?

what sticks out in chapter 4 is when God is talking to Cain about "If you do qhat is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it." this got me to think about how easy it is for us to fall and give in to our sinful ways.
chapter 5 was interesting to see all the people from Adam to Noah. sometimes it makes me wonder if the names were made up to fill in the gap?
chapter 6 is all so familiar. the flood. "my spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal" makes you really think.
chapter 7 shows how faithful Noah is in to following God; "Abd Biag dud akk that the Lord commanded him." i always wonder what i would have done in Noah's sittuation. it also shows how serious the flood effected everything; "Everything on dry land that had breath of life in its nostrils died."
chapter 8 shows that God keeps his word by when He says he will never destroy living creatures again like he did with the flood.
and lastly..with chapter 9 reassures me how it is okay to eat meat..ie be fruitful. as well, i really like this:
"Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed' fpr in the image of God has God made man."

Just odd, but the more i read this, the more i realize that the stories i have been told have slight differences.
For example: it says 7 pairs of clean animals and 2 of each unclean animal, i was told 2 of each animal...
Makes me wonder what else i have been told is different.
I also like Gen 7:1 WHO WOULDNT WANT GOD TELLING YOU THIS!!!!!
Two other things, 9:4 makes me want to eat kosher, it says we can eat meat, just as long as there is no blodd. Sometimes i think about going vegetarian again...
The rainbow, i see why it is a symbol between God and people, but why do bisexual and homosexual use it as a symbol too? Current Mood: bouncy

Has the story of cain and abel
And starts the begotten verses.... I am sure you enjoy those as much as i do!!!
There isnt a lot of ohh my goodness i had no clue about that in the beginning of chapter 4!, its like the story of creation you have heard the story cain and abel many times. Although it usually stops at God asking Cain where his brother is and the reply of "...Am i my brothers keeper"
It was interesting to read Gen 3:14-15 for the conclusion. I believe although this story is short it is one that is not usually fully told when studying the bible.
Begot!!!! and its interesting to think about how long those people lived.
Noah! It is weird to think that if it was not for Noah we wouldnt be alive. (Gen 6:4) You always hear that noah built the ark cause God told him too, but not so much why.
This also brings the question, would God ever do this again? I mean Gen 6:11 seems like it is happening now days.
And Gen 6:13-22 Is just a classic biblical story
go now and leave me
i find Genesis 3:7 interesting; "Then the eyes of both of them were opened..." i can relate to this for example, when i am sinning, i tend to run from God and try to 'forget' that i am actually sinning. i feel that running away will solve all my problems. but what everyone needs is someone to 'open their eyes' which is through Jesus Christ when He died for our sins. just a thought:)considering it is past 3:30 in the morning, i might not make much sense, so my apologizes if it does not. im out. God Bless!
First of all of course the story of creation.
While reading i found this interesting:
Gen 2:17 compared to Gen3:3
Could this be the first lie?
It may show that people will change things just to be able to do something they arent supposed to
But thats just a thought
Also a point i like is that although the first chapter brings for the creation and evolution, a point to make about the arguments, is that no matter what discussions you get into about the subject, the main point is that God did it.
Okay myself (jake) and kim decided to read a bible in a year, So it takes 3 chapters a day and 5 on sunday. We started the day after christmas, however we are night people so we started talking about it at 2:00 am pacific time.
Membership is moderated, this way we can stop some of the drama that is unneeded.
But we are nice, The main purpose is to post thoughts about what you are reading, what you learned, or something interesting.
It helps others take a different perspective on the bible Current Mood: creative
